ARE SURRON MOTORCYCLES LEGAL IN THE UK?

Yes there is a road legal version of the Surron LBX, complete with number plate, lights, wing mirrors, speedo etc. It can be ridden with just a moped licence by anyone over 16 on the road, restricted to 30 mph on road and can be de restricted to 45 mph for off road. 

A rider must be 16 and over with a provisional licence and a Compulsory Basic Training Certificate CBT. It can also be ridden by anyone with a full car licence issued after 1st Feb 2001 and a CBT andcanyone with a full car licence before 1st Feb 2001. To be road legal riders must wear a helmet, register the motorbike, display a number plate and have the relevant insurance.
