All motorcycles whether they are electric or petrol engine require a licence to ride on a public highway.
They need to be registered with the DVLA and display a number plate.
The rider needs the appropriate licence for their class of motorcycle.
They need to be insured and have an annual MOT when they reach three years old.
Currently all Electric Vehicles are exempt from road tax.
